(World Health Organization)
Topic A: Access to Healthcare in Fragile, Conflict-Affected, and Vulnerable States
Topic B: Ethics of Technology Use in Healthcare

Committee Description
The World Health Organization (WHO) committee will be addressing the various challenges in providing equitable access to healthcare due to faults in systemic procedures. Healthcare accessibility is an increasing issue in fragile, conflict-afflicted, and vulnerable (FCV) settings. The barriers to healthcare delivery in FCVs and the improvement of current solutions will be discussed in order to improve service delivery. At the forefront of these discussions, delegates will be tackling a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal: Universal Health Coverage (SDG 3.8)
With the rise of technology, the WHO committee will also address the ethics of technology use in healthcare, addressing both current and emerging technologies. Discussions around the use of biotechnology such as genome editing or personalized medicine is a controversial issue. The details of cost, personal safety, and regulatory procedures will all be examined to determine when and how to effectively use biotechnology. Artificial Intelligence and Organoid Intelligence are also emerging technologies and uncertainty regarding accuracy, data training, and human replacement will all be explored in order to answer the question on whether they have a place in the world of healthcare. The focus of these discussions will be establishing a consensus on how to adapt healthcare to the rapidly advancing technological world.
